The proposed design objective is to curate a vibrant socialisation and safe space for the elderly, provoking the stigma of being “unfun” that comes with old age, by curating a community-centric retail hub to promote awareness of increasing inequality of elderly in Singapore and promote their wellbeing. This project aims to understand the elderly and foster empathy from adolescents, youths, and adults by preserving and raising awareness of past social scenes. 

DESIGN ELEMENTS

To adaptively reuse the existing  site, implementing ellipses in the negative space conveys the overlapping ellipse concept while maintaining the given facade. Circulation shaped by the ellipse form creates a dynamic and interconnected experience for users.
